• TECHNICAL REVISION REQIIEST FOR BOND IIPDATE~ WASHBAY POND
AND BEDIMENT BITMP~ NEW TOPSOIL STOCKPILE
The bond, as submitted in October 1992, has been
completely updated to include changes in the mine facilities,
additional pond and sediment sump and a new topsoil stockpile #15K
for the West Pit Sediment Pond. Changes to the mine facilities and
proposed facilities, shown in October 1992, have been updated to
include all new construction, and 1993 proposed construction (see
attached schedule) and corresponding changes have been made to Map
38, Bond Calculation Map - Facilities Removal and Regrade. An
additional pond and sediment sump are being added and are shown for
bond calculation purposes included with the sediment ponds. Anew
stockpile has been created for the topsoil removed from the West
Pit Pond area. The West Pit Pond has also been included with the
East Pit facilities as only the West Pit Pond area will be
disturbed in 1993. Additional acreage has been included for water
line disturbance from the Wilson pond to Water Tank #1 in the mine
facilities area.
The new bond amount for the East Pit area will be
$13,752,211, including this revision and Minor Revision MR21,
Dragline Walkroad. The current bond amount for Colowyo is
$14,000,000, thus $247,789 of contingency will remain.
During the
. Revision and subsequent
the unresolved bond co
October 1993 bond updat
estimate to match thos
were discovered to be
specific costs), D10N
attached following tabl
new match numbers for
bond update process for this Technical
discussions with DMG personnel, several of
st differences were discovered. During the
e, $83,583 was added to Colowyo~s bond cost
e done by DMG. Two of the differing areas
in facilities costs (add 2.5g for city
dozers for ditch reclamation costs. The
es show the appropriate corrections and the
the current bond calculations.
Included with the update are revised pages 1, 15-25, A13,
A21, A22, A23, B72, C31, D1, D2, D4, D5, D12, D13, D14, D16-24.
The proposed location of the nondischarging washbay pond
and associated sediment sump are shown on Map 12A, Hydrology of
Gossard and Mine Maintenance Areas and on Map 38, Bond Calculation
Map Facilities Removal and Regrade. Wash water exiting the washbay
will continue to flow into the existing concrete sediment sump,
then pass on to the proposed earthen sediment sump, and then
finally to the proposed nondischarging washbay pond. The pond will
function as an open water storage tank much like the Taylor Creek
Pond. A high volume water pump with a water horse for loading
water trucks will draw water from the washbay pond allowing water
re-use for dust suppression on mine haul roads and other related
uses. Refer to Map TR-24, Washbay Facilities, for additional
detail on the proposed sump and pond.
-~-Ra~ 9/~~hs
