~i
Blue Mountain Energy, Inc. WWTP Waier Quality Assessment CO-0038024
•
The mean hazdness was computed to be 2i4 mg/I based on sampling data from USGS Station
09306290, located on the White River belotiv Boise Creek, approximately 7 miles upstream of the
confluence of Red Wash and Scullion Gulch with Kenney Reservoir. These datawere available for a
period of record from 1990 to 1999. It should be noted that data from this location included
dissolved calcium and dissolved magnesium analytical results and these were used to calculate the
hazdness concentration, absent hardness data. Specifically, the WQCD uses the calcium and
magnesium concentrations to calculate hardness based on the following equation:
• Appendix A Page 5 of 15
Hazdness data for the White River neaz [he point of confluence with Red Wash and Scullion Gulch
were insufficient to conduct a regression analysis based on the low flow. Therefore, the WQCD's
alternative approach to calculating hazdness was used, which involves computing a mean hazdness.
