Boz 1849 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81502 <br />Re: Receipt of 1LZ Hard Rock/Metal Mining Reclantatioo Permit Application, Soaring Eagle Gravel Pit, <br />NSIe No. M-99-025 <br />Dear Mr. Settle: <br />On Mazch 8, 1999, the Division of Minerals and Geology received your 112 Hard Rock/Metal M'i"ing <br />Reclamation Permit application for the Soaring Eagle Gravel Pit, which is located in Mesa Cotmty. All comment <br />and review periods began on March 8, 1999. The decision date for your application is scheduled for June 7, 1999. <br />Within ten (10) days after submittal, you must publish notice in a newspaper of general cvculation in the locality <br />of the proposed rttirling operarion once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks. Within that same tea (10) day <br />period, you must mail or personally serve a copy of the same information provided in the public notice to the <br />swspaper to the owners of record of surface rights and all owners of record of surface lands that are within 200 <br />feet of the boundary of the affected land. Lnmediately after the first publication, mail a copy of the notice to this <br />office. Proof of notice and mailings, such as Certified Mail -Return Receipt Requested, must be submitted to <br />the Division of Minerals and Geology prior to the decision date. Additionally, any changes or additions to the <br />application on file in our office must also be reflected in the public review copy which has been placed with the <br />Mesa Counry Clerk and Recorder. <br />The Division is reviewing your application to de!a^^TM^P whether it is adequate to meet the requirements of the Act. <br />We will contact you if additional information is deeded. <br />Please be reminded that all operators must codtac[ the Colorado Departmetu of Health, Water Qttaliry Control <br />Division regarding storm water permits. <br />if you have any questions, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Thomas D.
