• 4.04 SUPPORT FACILITIES
The support facilities to be used for the Peacock Coal Mine, including
the office, shop, and warehouse complex, and the coal handling and
loadout facilities, are shown on the Sediment & Drainage Control Plan
Map (Map 6). These support structures are existing and have been used
to facilitate past mining at the Peacock Coal Mine. The complete
discussion on all the support facilities is found under Section 2.05.3.
Detailed drainage and sediment control has been developed for the mining
operation as discussed in Section 2.05.3. All sediment control measures
have been designed to prevent damage to fish and wildlife and other
related environmental values; also, sediment control structures have
been designed to prevent contributions of suspended solids to runoff
outside the area of disturbance in excess of the limitations of both
federal and state law.
As discussed throughout this submittal, Sunbelt will conduct their
• future mining activities in a manner which will minimize impacts on the
environment, public and private property, and miscellaneous services
found in the vicinity of the planned operation.
There are no operating oil and gas wells at or around the planned mine;
likewise, there is no coal slurry pipeline planned on or around the
mining area. There is no operating railroad in the vicinity of the
mine. The area to be•utilized for surface support facilities of the
planned underground operations will have no impact on powerlines,
telephone lines, or water and sewage lines within the permit or adjacent
areas.

4.04-1
