• The representative soil profile for this unit is a member of <br />the loamy skeletal mixed family of Pachic Cryoborolls. Typically, <br />these soils have a grayish brown, fine sandy loam surface layer <br />to 8 inches. Subsoil is grayish brown loam to 19 inches. Sub- <br />stratum is pale brown, very gravelly sandy loam to 33 inches. <br />Underlying material is yellowish-brown rippable shale bedrock. <br />Phyto-Edaphic Unit 12 - Low Elevation Big Sagebrush/Moderately <br />Deep Loams <br />Soils are between 20 and 40 inches deep over bedrock or a very <br />gravelly layer. The representative soil profile for this unit <br />is a member of the fine loamy mixed ustic family of Borollic <br />Camborthids. Typically, these soils have yellowish brown sandy <br />loam surface layers to 3 inches. The subsoil is brown sandy <br />loam to 11 inches. The substratum is light gray and pale yellow <br />• clay loam. The underlying material is hard sandstone and shale <br />bedrock. <br />Phyto-Edaphic Unit 14 - Mixed Mountain Shrub/Dark Brown Loams <br />The Mixed Mountain Shrubland type occurs on soils with dark brown <br />surface layers over very gravelly, cobbly subsoil material with <br />bedrock at 20 to 30 inches in depth. <br />The representative soil profile for this unit is a member of <br />the loamy skeletal mixed family of Calcic Cryoborolls.
