Therefore, impact on these wells is <br />expected to be minimal. <br />These represent, basically, the worst case scenarios for <br />impacts of the mining operation on ground-eater rights. <br />Zt should be recognized that the zone-of-influence <br />u <br />est imates. from pit excavation are based on several <br />assumptions that may not necessarily reflect the actual field <br />setting. Over time, however, the proposed monitoring program <br />will provide input to assist in the refinement of the initial <br />estimates of impact to water rights adjacent to the NUCLA <br />EAST pit. <br />4.4 WATER-RIGRT5 MONZTORZNG PLAN <br />GEOTRANS proposes that PCC implement additional <br />monitoring to inclufle the following: <br />- Honitor the rate o£ i~5£low into the pits by installing <br />cumulative flow meters on the pumps. <br />- Monitor the shallow ground-water aquifer between <br />the proposed NDCLA EAST mine pit and Calamity Draw, and <br />29 <br />GEOTRANS.
