• 2.05.3
used to transfer the coal into the run-of-mine coal stockpile in order to
minimize segregation and air particulate emissions. Radial stackers are
utilized to stockpile the crushed coal and stoker coal.
The downhill conveyor will eliminate the need for the crushed coal pile at the
portal bench. The downhill conveyor will transport crushed coal to the coal
storage pile located along old State Highway 133. Up to 350,000 tons of
coal will be stored in the new highway stockpile.
Downhill Conveyor Transfer Building
The downhill conveyor transfer building is a structural steel building where
the transfer belt from the crushing and screening building terminates. The
coal transfers to the downhill conveyor. The dimensions of the building are
approximately 16 feet by 16 feet by 25 feet high.
Stacking Tubes
• The 2"XO" coal is stacked at the highway stockpile by two concrete tubes to
minimize coal segregation and air particulate emissions. One tube is
approximately 100-feet high and the other is 120-feet high. Both are 12-feet
in diameter and are equipped with 4-foot square openings to allow coal to
flow from the tube to the stockpile area. One of the stacking tubes is located
directly on the reclaim tunnel.
Reclaim Tunnel
This 13-foot diameter, 350-foot long multi-plate tunnel is located at the
highway stockpile. A 42-inch diameter, 160-foot long escape tube provides
ventilation and emergency exit from the west (closed) end of the reclaim
tunnel. The escape tube terminates at a concrete fan housing that is
approximately 6-feet by 6-feet by 8-feet high. The ventilation fan will not
push air to the south over the highway.
Loadout Transfer Buildino
The loadout transfer building is a structural steel building where the reclaim
belt terminates. The coal transfers to the loadout conveyor. The dimensions
• of the building are approximately 20 feet by 20 feet by 45 feet high.
PR-O6 2.05 - 14 - 8/01
R PPRovED
~~/s~oz-
