<br /> <br />Exibit D <br />Crestone Pit <br />Mining Plan <br />Pit will be excavated to obtain pit run material, sand and <br />gravel to be crushed or screened for road and general <br />construction. <br />The excavation will proceed from the current disturbed site east <br />of the entrance and continue west at a depth not to exceed <br />twenty-five feet. <br />Pit walls will be sloped 4 to 1 as mining progresses to prepare <br />for reclamation. <br />Topsoil will be removed and stockpiled prior to removal of <br />the underlying materials. Topsoil piles should be located sixty <br />feet from the excavated areas and should not exceed ten to twelve <br />feet in height to lessen their visual impact. Topsoil piles will <br />be seeded to abate erosion. <br />Subsoil stockpiles will be located at least sixty feet from <br />excavated areas and in seperate piles from the topsoil and should <br />not exceed ten to twelve feet in height. <br />A new access road will be installed starting at the <br />northwest corner and heading east to the disturbed area. <br />Dikes and/or ditches will be installed as necessary during mining <br />to abate erosion and drainage problems. The pre-disturbed area at <br />the north and northwest area will be left as is until the <br />underlying material is needed, with the exception of the new <br />access road. The road will be approximatly 32' wide and 500' <br />long. <br />Excavation will normally be conducted by crawler dozers and <br />tracked or rubber tired front end loaders. Operations being <br />conducted and equipment used, may include some or all of the <br />following: <br />Crushing of rock (Rock Crusher) <br />Screening of rock, gravel and sand (Screening Plant) <br />Processing asphalt (Asphalt Mixing Plant) <br />Processing concrete (Concrete Batch Plant) <br />Processing Adobe (Adobe Press and Screeds} <br />Other various equipment may include, stack conveyors, diesel <br />powered generators, water truck, mobile storage van, backhoe <br />loaders, excavators, road graders, scrapers, farm tractor with <br />grain drill. <br />All ogerations will be in compliance with all appropriate <br />enviromental and saftey regulations. <br />All equipment and plants will be portable. <br />Water needed for any above operations will be hauled in by truck. <br />Any asphalt or concrete spills that occur will be disposed of at <br />the appropriate facility. <br />Haul vehicles used to transport materials will range from <br />
