• 2.04.9 Soils Resource Information <br />(1) The following information is provided to describe the soils occurring within the <br />Roadside North and South Portals permit area. <br />(a) Representative profile descriptions available for soil types within the <br />permit area, although not necessarily disturbed by surtace operations, <br />are described below: <br />The Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) was contacted in <br />1996 for updated soils information far this permit application. Since the <br />original preparation of the soils of this section, NRCS has revised soils <br />information names, numbers and descriptions. The former information <br />has been removed from the text of this Tab Section and the new <br />information is included as tables in Appendix 9-6. This appendix <br />includes soil group descriptions properties, productivity, and suitability for <br />• various uses including reclamation potential. Exhibit 23 has been <br />revised to show the new soil group numbers.
