9.3.3.4.6 Slurry Waste
The fine refuse is the underflow from the thickener. It will be
pumped through a pipeline from the thickener to the belt/filter
presses for further dewatering. As described above, the solids
will be added to the product stream and the water diverted back to
the hydraulic mine circuit.
9.3.3.9.7 Specialty Coal
This area will have a sub-base of clay and a base of concrete. The
coal will have a surface moisture of about 6 percent and will not
be on the site for any extended period of time and is expected to
retain the moisture or lose it through evaporation. As an added
precaution, the small pad will slope to a sump for collection of
any water that may accumulate. Water pumped from this sump will be
delivered to the water circuit for reuse. The maximum expected
volume to be stored at this location is 2000 cu-yds.
•
9.3.3.9.8 Conveyors
All conveyors will be constructed of steel framed towers and be
fully enclosed within the process building, except for the
extension of one conveyor which will transport coal to the
temporary coal pile. This conveyor will also be enclosed. The
location of the conveyor is provided in Figure 9.2-3.
9.3.3.4.9 All Other Buildings
The shops, electrical substation, water treatment, warehouse,
office and sizing buildings enclosures will be made of common
construction materials and include concrete footings and founda-
tions, steel frames (as necessary), and steel siding for permanent
. NCIG - Coal Ridge #1 4-37 ABC/1145/910509
7.:-7
