• Routt.Series - Contd. <br />B23t 44-60"--Light yellowish brown (lOYR 6/4) heavy silty clay <br />loam, dark yellowish brown (lOYR 4/4) moist; moderate <br />medium and fine subangular blocky structure; hard, very <br />firm, very sticky, very plastic; neutral. <br />Range in Characteristics: Thickness of the mollic epipedon ranges from <br />17 to 30 inches. An A2 horizon may be present in some pedons, ranging in <br />thickness from 2 to 10 inches. The argillic horizon ranges from 20 to 40 <br />inches in thickness, and often extends beyond 60 inches. <br />A horizons have values of 3 or 4 dry, 2 or 3 moist, and chroma of 1 <br />through 3. The B horizons have hues of SYR through lOYR, value of 4 <br />through 6, 3 through 5 moist, and chroma of 2 through 4. The C horizons, <br />• when present, have hues of 7.SYR or lOYR, values of 5 or 6 dry, 4 through <br />. 6 moist, and chromas of 3 or 4.
