An interpretation sheet
is attached giving the description and the natural plant community.
It is suggested that the sloping areas be backsloped to a 3 to 1 slope
or flatter. At least 3 inches of cover of topsoil, if material is ¢vail-
able at or nenr the site, be placed on the disturbed areas and mixed with
the underlying material.
The species best suited and readily available from commercial seed dealers
are; Crested Wheatgrass 6 pounds per acre
Luna Pubescent Wheatgrass 12 pounds per acre
Yellow Blossom sw~,etclover 1 pound per acre
The above mentioned seeding rates are for seeding with a drill. If the area
is broadc~.st seeded these rates should be doubled. Cover seeds x to yz inchs
deep. Zf broadcast seeded it shoild hand raked to get adequate cover on tthe
seed. Late fall seeding would be the most desirable.
Ly R. saley
Di rict Cons
0
