UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
P,0. Box 265, Kremmling, CO. 80b59
Aug, 24, 1979
•lJelton Bumgarner
Kremmling, CO. ,40459
III ~II~I~~III~II III
The following is a reclamation plan for your gravel pit in the 7FWJL
The soil at this site is Tine0obbly sandy loam. An interpretation sheet
is attached giving the description and the natural plant community.
It is suggested that the sloping areas be backsloped to a 3 to 1 slope
or flatter. At least 3 inches of cover of topsoil, if material is ¢vail-
able at or nenr the site, be placed on the disturbed areas and mixed with
the underlying material.
The species best suited and readily available from commercial seed dealers
are; Crested Wheatgrass 6 pounds per acre
Luna Pubescent Wheatgrass 12 pounds per acre
Yellow Blossom sw~,etclover 1 pound per acre
The above mentioned seeding rates are for seeding with a drill. If the area
is broadc~.st seeded these rates should be doubled. Cover seeds x to yz inchs
deep. Zf broadcast seeded it shoild hand raked to get adequate cover on tthe
seed. Late fall seeding would be the most desirable.
Ly R. saley
Di rict Cons
0
