They will <br />be located between the property boundary and the mining setbacks surrounding the <br />properly on the north and west, with one larger berm located at the southwest comer, <br />again as depicted on the submitted documents. The standard berm will vary in height <br />from five feet to approximately eight fleet. To attain a more aestheticalty pleasing visual <br />effect, the berms will be undulating-and not constructed in a straight line. The berms will <br />be constructed from both topsoil and overbwrden from the site with side slopes of <br />approximately 2:1 and these will be constructed sequentially as we move through the <br />property and have to store these materials.. The only exception will be the south berm <br />that wilt be constructed immediately from Phase t materials. These slopes {2;1) wilt <br />aAow the berms to be seeded with adry-land grass, the type of which will be determined <br />based on recommendations from the Shavano Soil District {and subject to approval from <br />the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology). Seeding the berms will help control <br />water and wind erosion from the berm and also help keep-the topsoi(fertile and in a <br />usable state for reclamation. The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geok:gy, as part of <br />their review, referral, and approval process wilt dictate the exact seed mixture to be <br />utilized. once approved and issued, the Applicarrt will provide the County with a copy of <br />the Division of Minerals and Geology Permit that dictates reclamation practices to be <br />utilized (including the landscape berm since the berm is essentially a place to store <br />overburden and topsoil). The timing of berm placement was addressed in the <br />application material submitted. Since the sand and gravel cannot be mined until the <br />
