• Typical pedon of a Razor clay loam in an area of Razor <br />Midway complex, 3 to 9 percent slopes; about 250 feet south <br />of northeast corner of the NW# NEB of sec. 23, T. 11 S., R. <br />61 W: <br />Al-0 to 3 inches; light brownish gray (lOYR 6/2) clay <br />loam, dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) moist; moderate <br />fine granular structure; soft friable, slightly <br />sticky and slightly plastic; neutral; clear smooth <br />boundary. <br />B2-3 to 9 inches; grayish brown (lOYR 5/2) heavy clay <br />loam, dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) moist; weak <br />medium prismatic structure parting to moderate fine <br />and medium subangular blocky; very hard, firm, <br />sticky and plastic, moderately alkaline; gradual <br />smooth boundary. <br />Baca-9 to 18 inches; grayish brown (lOYR 5/2) clay, <br />dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) moist; weak coarse <br />prismatic structure parting to weak medium and <br />coarse subangular blocky; very hard, very firm, <br />sticky and plastic visible lime in the form of <br />large soft masses; calcareous; moderately <br />alkaline; gradual smooth boundary. <br />. Clca-18 to 31 inches; grayish brown (lOYR 5/2) clay, <br />dark grayish brown (lOYR 4/2) moist; weak coarse <br />subangular blocky structure; very hard, very firm, <br />sticky and plastic; visible lime occurs as nodules <br />and streaks; calcareous; moderately alkaline; <br />gradual smooth boundary. <br />C2r-31 to 48 inches; hard calcareous shale. <br />The solum ranges from 11 to 20 inches in thickness. <br />The Al horizon is light brownish gray or grayish brown loam <br />or clay loam. The B2 horizon is clay to heavy clay loam. <br />The C1 horizon is grayish brown or light grayish brown. The <br />C2r horizon is calcareous or non calcareous shale.
