Yosemite St., Suite 160
Englewood, Co. 80112
Dear Mr. Miller:
In response to your telephoned request of 6/26/81, I am forwarding
copies of Cultural Resource Reports pertinent to Lease IiC-30656.
Please copy the information you feel that is needed and return the
reports to this office. I have also enclosed a copy of the Programmatic
Memorandum of Agreement for coal, which outlines procedures and respon-
sibilities for cultural resource compliance in the Federal Coal Program.
• The inventory conducted by Archaeological Services last summer for Utah
International included a portion of Lease C-30656, which had previously
been identified in the lease stipulations as requiring inventory.
Therefore, it would appear that at this time the entire lease has been
surveyed for cultural resources. Two sites, one historic, one
prehistoric, and one isolated find have been identified as a result
of the inventories. BLM initiated consultation with the Colorado State
Historic Preservation Officer during the development of the Green River/
Hams Fork EIS for these sites, but as yet, consultation for the lease tract
has not been completed. The BLM. will make every effort to complete con-
sultation prior to your submission of mine plan.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact Michael
Piontkowski, District Archaeologist.
Sincerely,
~aI.~QA(YC~ G~~~~
l./ Lee Carie
District Manager
Enclosures (3)

CONSERVE
~ ~~~:
Save Ene~lty and You Serve Ame~ica~
