Mulching and Anchoring -Native hay mulch free of weeds will be applied at a rate of 4,000
potmds per acre. At least 50% of the hay should be 10 inches in length or longer when bales
are open. Anchoring of the mulch may be done with a farm type disk plow by setting
the disk straight and appl}~ing adequate nei;ht to crimp the mulch four inches into the soil.
Manure can be substituted for hay mulch if it is cloddy and applied at a rate of 20 tons per
acre. If manure is used for nutrient requirement as well as mulch, application rate should be
increased to meet nitrogen and phosphorus requirements above the 20 tons minimum
requirement. Lab analysis of the nitrogen and phosphorus component shall dictate how much
more manure is needed to meet those needs.
10. Livestock Exclusion -All livestock will be excluded until grass is well established on the site.
If yott have any further questions please feel free to contact me at 719-254-7882.
Sincerely,

David A.
