SMITH, DEPUTY STATE ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: JEFFERSON COUNTY -PINE JUNCTION PIT, JEFFERSON COUNTY, <br />APPLICATION FOR MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT <br />As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for a gravel <br />pit at Pine Junction. The applicant states on page 5 of the report that <br />"the floor of the quarry will be watered down as necessary to prevent fugi- <br />tive dust... and the gravel trucks leaving the site will be sprayed as <br />necessary to prevent dust... ". What is the source of this dust control <br />water? Is this source decreed for industrial use? Ffr~w mt,rh w~tPr will . a ~~ <br />be required for this purpose? Is water required for irrigation of re vegetated o a i"' <br />areas, for sanitary use, or for any other purpose? If so, what is the source <br />of this water?
