Box 511
La Junta, Colorado 81050
Re: Hancock Gravel Pit - File No. 81-279
Dear Mr. Aldrich
Yesterday our office received the evaluation of the above captioned
operation from the Colorado Division of Wildlife. Presumably, this
statement in combination with your statements concerning wildlife in
the original application, is to be your submission concerning wildlife.
Please clarify your position concerning the reclamation recommendations
by the Division of Wildlife.
I suggest that, if the landowner considers the incorporation of
brush-planted depressions to be compatible with his dryland pasture
end land use, Otero County should contact the Soil Conservation
Service for a recommendation as to the proper brush species to plant
in such depressions. This recommendation should then be passed on to
our Division as part of the permit.
As always, please call me if you have any questions in this matter.
Sincerely,
Pry.,w,,~z ~-- -.
Mark S.
