• 2.02 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR COAL EXPLORATION <br />2.02.1 Scone <br />The scope of this section establishes requirement's for coal exploration and is intended to <br />insure that such exploration and is intended to insure that such exploration is conducted in a <br />manner that protects the environment and complies with the existing governmental <br />regulations. These regulations include filing notices of intent when 250 tons or less of coal <br />will be removed during exploration and applying for written approval when more than 250 <br />tons of coal will be removed during exploration. <br />2.02.2 Exploration Involvine Removal of 250 Tons or Less of Coal <br />Colowyo hereby gives written notice of its intent to conduct coal exploration during which <br />less than 250 tons of coal will be removed. Exploration taking place inside and outside of <br />the permit area will be handled through the Notice of Intent (NOI) area will be handled <br />through the Notice of Intent (NOI) procedures. See the appropriate NOI for details for each <br />program. <br />With the approval of Technical revision 50, all exploration holes located within the permit <br />boundary are transferred to NOI X-95-109-5 and are managed under Coal Exploration <br />procedures. <br />• Wells drilled as an integral part of water monitoring plans identified in the PAP (Permit C- <br />81-019) and water supply wells (for mining purposes) are managed under this Permit C-81- <br />019. <br />The name, address and telephone number of the person seeking to explore is: Colowyo <br />Coal Company L.P., 5731 State Highway 13, Meeker, Colorado 81641; (970) 824-1500. <br />The name, address and telephone number of the representative who will be present at and <br />responsible for conducting the exploration activities is: Juan Garcia, Senior Mining <br />Engineer, Colowyo Coal Company, 5731 State Highway 13, Meeker, Colorado 81641; <br />(970) 824-1500. <br />Colowyo owns all land or has right of entry for lands on which it intends to explore. <br />r1 <br />~J <br />2.02-1 Revision Date: 6/28/05 <br />Revision No.: MR-73 <br />
