-48-
• MR. RENNER: No, there is --.
MR. BARRY: Did I mis-hear Ron Cohen say you can artificial water and
that is improper and -- because then you are going to have to keep doing it?
MS. FARRELL: There is no irrigation plan for revegetation.
MR. BARRY: Did he say -- did I mis-hear him?
MR. R. COHEN: I said that if you do, and that it's hard to establish
some of the plants, often the less you do have -- (inaudible) -- conditions,
unless you do have the water, in some cases, and then if you do water them
then you have to keep watering them. I didn't actually say that:. bads there
about watering.
MR. HOLDER: Would this be the proper witness to ask about the road
• erosion that was also mentioned earlier?
MR. MASSE Y: We've got another one on that one. I would liike Sam to
address the question of the probability of achieving reclamation revegetation
success based on his extensive experience and success. Specifically as that
term is used in the statutes and regulations of the Board.
MR. BAMBERG: With proper preparation of surface materials„ proper
drainage and erosion control, good top dressing materials which is also within
the plan and if you do it at the right time of year, the -- you stand a 70 to
80% revegetation success from what you would get with -- what would be the
ordinary plant cover in this area. So the revegetation success is between 70
to 80% that what you plant will survive and mature and come up to establish
good cover.
MR. DANIEL SON: I have just one question down that alley, which is, we
all know from our experience with revegetation that you can havE~ that one bad
•
