There are three Demonstration Areas associated with the C-81-071 Permit, all of which are
i located on Mine No. 2.
The first, Demonstration Area A, was previously approved when CMLRD approved the
elimination of ponds Q, R and S on September 14, 1984. This approval was based upon
vegetative cover and water sampling data. A copy of the adequacy response, data summary and
decision for this demonstration is included under Demonstration Area A.
Demonstration Area B consists of approximately 70 acres of reclamation which is due for final
bond release. Vegetative cover on both pazcels involved is greater than that of the pasture
reference area. This, in conjunction with its close proximity to Demonstration Area A (with
water quality already demonstrated) should suffice to meet the requirements of Rule 4.05.2(2).
A summary of the vegetative cover values for this demonstration is included under Demonstration
Area B.
Demonstration Area C consists of some 15 acres below the outslope of Ditch M-1, which is again
due for final bond release. Vegetative cover on the area involved is greater than that of the
pasture reference area. Again, CYCC feels that this is in conjunction with its proximity to the
previously approved Demonstration Area A should be sufficient to meet the requirements of Rule
4.05.2(2). A summary of cover for this demonstration is included under Demonstration Area C.
The Demonstration Areas are delineated on Map 9A (Hydrologic Features and Sediment Control).
Parcel acreage is the total number of acres contained within a given portion of reclamation, while
the acres involved value reflects the number of acres within a given pazcel which are affected by
the demonstration.
• MR 93-78 Ex. 29-26 Revised 06/11/93
