The designated area begins approximately <br />300"wESt al~d 600' south of the respective east a]?d north <br />boundaries of the 40 acre tract as detailed il. The entrance is controled <br />by a locked gate used by both the operator a]?d the federal <br />governrnen[. Thus, onl•:~ a small portion cf the haul road <br />( 0.14 acres ) is used sole7.y by the mine operator. <br />The east approach to the mining area is confined ty gra.^.- <br />ite galls to the left and right. The entrance to t}-m <br />area is abo'.rt 100' +,~ide and Lima=lens out into a mil;cd-nut <br />b~~ucl? that is approximately 238' ]aide and 240' drop (.bout <br />1.6 a~~res). The first bench i.s used for the crusher oper- <br />ation, ma[Erial stockpiles, and vehicle turn-around. The <br />present ininin,r, face is ]ocated on a Znd belncil wY!ich is <br />about 15' aLove the 1st: It is '_he operators intEl;tion <br />to proceed ,pith min in; in a westerly direr[ion up the <br />slope in a series of 15 - 20' bend?es. Due ro the ste<•p- <br />ness of tl?e slope, the 2nd bench may be too nan-ow [o <br />accanodate the crusher. Therefore, material will be Inu.-ed <br />by a cor,vevor 5\'SLEin do~•.-n to the 1st bench until adequate <br />space is crested on Ule 3rd bench. <br />The overbrirden is Estimated to be 30' deep as the n~ininF <br />approaches the hilltop in the 3rd phase.
