1.0 INTRODUCTION <br />Dorchester Coal Company (Dorchester) presently operates an <br />underground mine, located near Florence, Colorado. The mine is <br />identified as the "Dorchester No. 1 Mine" and will be referenced <br />to as such throughout this report. In conjunction with mining <br />operations, a subsidence survey, subsidence monitoring and <br />subsidence control plan are required pursuant to RULE 2.05.6 (6) <br />of the Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal <br />Mining. <br />Rocky Mountain Geotechnical (RMG) was requested by <br />Dorchester to conduct a subsidence study and to prepare a <br />subsidence survey, subsidence monitoring and subsidence control <br />plan to meet the requirements of RULE 2.05.6 (6) of the <br />• Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal <br />Mining, hereafter referred to as the "Regulations." This report <br />presents the results of that study. The format of this report is <br />structured such that the report is keyed to the appropriate <br />regulations. The corresponding rule numbers are incorporated in <br />the section headings and individual paragraphs. <br />1.1 Structures and Renewable Resource Lands (RULE 2:05.6(6)(a)) <br />An inventory of structures and renewable resource lands was <br />conducted. The following is an itemized list of each of the <br />features identified (RULE 2.05.6(6) (a) (ii) (A): <br />• Ranch house and accompanying building in southeast <br />quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 25, Township <br />20 South, Range 70 West. <br />• County Road 92 in northwest quarter of Section 30, <br />• Township 20 South, Range 69 West. <br />1 <br />
