r
TASK a-SPREAD OVERBURDEN/TOPSOIL OVER THE STRIPPED AREAS AND ROAD: The
approved reclamation plan calls for 6 inches of topsoil to be spread over those areaz of the permit intended for
revegetation. The Division estimates that 3646 cu. yd. of material tom the large "topsoil" stockpile will be
necessary in order to meet this requirement.
TASK 5-PUSH REMAINDER OF OVERBURDEN/1'OPSOIL INTO PIT: The Division estimates
that approximately 11,760 cu. yd. of material will remain in the large "topsoil" stockpile afrer material has been
removed to lessen the steep margins of the pond and to furnish growth medium for the rest of the disturbed permit
area. The Division's estimated cost of this disposal is based on filling the western end of the piUpond with this
remaining material.
TASK 6-GRADE SITE AFTER DISTRIBUTION OVERBURDEN/FOPSOIL: In order to prepare the
site for seeding, the Division proposes that all copsoiled areas be fine graded. The Division's estimated cost of
doing this is based on use of a Cat 120G motor grader (or its equivalent).
TASK 7-REVEGETATE THE TOPSOILED AREAS: The Division's estimate for seeding the site is
based on the approved seed mix, amoun[s of seed and seeding method and includes mulching and crimping costs.
TASK 8-MOB/DEMOB: The Division's estimate for this Task is based on the equipment proposed for
use in the reclamation being available in Pueblo.
NOTE: The Division intends its cost estimate to be as representative as possible and considers the figures and total
presented on the accompanying sheets as tentative at this point. RBK Construction, Inc. should, however, be aware
that the Division's estimate of the total cost of reclaiming the site will normally be higher than the operator's cost
of reclamation. The State must utilize a third party to conduct the reclamation and so allow for a contractor's
overhead and profit as well as project adminisaation costs.
The Division will consider any commenu including reclamation alternatives and/or costs provided by the operator
in order that the estimate be as accurate as possible. However, unless otherwise reduced by the Division as a result
of such considerations, areplacement financial warranty or a total financial warranty in the amount of $14,530.00
in a form acceptable to the Division must be submitted by RBK Construction, Inc. within 60 days of the date of this
document.
If you have any questions on the above or the attached cos[ and summary sheets, please contact me.
Sincerely,
J ctnr~wo G ~wuo
lames C.
