Box 68 <br />Craig, Colorado 81626 <br />303-824-8246 <br />Re: Supplemental Information; NOI No. X-94-214-00, Cvorus Empire Corporation <br />Dear Ms. Pavlik; <br />The following information is being provided as an update to the previously submitted <br />application materials, and reflects some minor changes which are the result of the field <br />inspections an final placement of the first nine site locations. The enclosed map shows <br />the changes to the exploration area boundary, the shift of a limited number of holes, <br />and the utilization of some alternate access routes which take advantage of better <br />roadways or shorter routes. To accomodate one such access change to PEDS-25, the <br />area boundary has been modified to include the segment from the county road to the <br />drill site. Conversely, two sections in the north east corner have been dropped from <br />the area, along with PEDS-21 which aids to maintain the acreage within the area <br />boundary at a reasonable level. <br />One other modification which CEC would like to propose to the Division is the handling <br />of water encountered during the drilling process due to the interception of potential <br />aquifers. As discussed with Division personnel on October 11 and 13, CEC is <br />concerned that the option of handling large flows with a vac truck may not prove <br />feasible, especially in instances where ground conditions dictate a minimization of <br />traffic. Given the nature of the aquifers we anticipate encountering (the White, <br />Twentymile, and Middle sandstones) and their associated high water quality, the <br />primary concern would lie in the minimization of suspended solids and the prevention <br />of erosion in conveying the overflow from the last pit in the series to a natural <br />drainageway. To alleviate the potential for erosion and to control suspended solids, <br />a combination of straw bales, silt fence, brattice cloth, or small water bars/dozer basins <br />could be utilized in the event substantial water flows are encountered which could not <br />be handled via the additional mudpits. These items could be used to prevent water <br />spreading in an undesireable manner, and would provide filtration and flow dissipation. <br />While CEC hopes that such flows will not be encountered, or that such flows when <br />encountered can be controlled with mudding the hole, we feel that it is prudent to <br />
