BOX 1190
Fort Collins, Colorado 80522
• III IIIIIIIIIIIII III
999
RE: Board action concerning Larimer County unpermitted
mining operations.
Dear Mr. Campton:
This is a formal notification of action taken by the Mined Land Recla-
mation Board on March 30, 1981 regarding the above mentioned items.
The Board adopted the following resolutions:
1. Larimer County submit up to date reports for all
of their mining operations.
2. Larimer County submit a written quarantee stating
that the affected lands of each operation will be reclaimed
in accordance with the terms of the permit and section
34-32-116 of the Act.
3. The Board be updated on this matter at their April
meeting. If substantial progress has not been made by
Larimer County regarding the above resolutions; the
issueing of a cease and desist order will be considered.
Publication and notification of adjacent landowners is required by law
prior to the approval and issuance of a permit. Therefore, Larimer
County must follow the notice requirements as defined in the rules and
regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. I suggest
that for regular operations, those exceeding 10 acres, you state the
last date for filing of objections as the 21st day after the final
publication. For limited impact operations you should have no problem
meeting the publication deadline prior to the April 22nd-23rd, 1981
Mined Land Reclamation Board meeting.
If you have any comments or questions do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Jay Lucas ~r2 /~/~~~
Reclamation Specialist d~~
JL:ys
