We understand that the period for
written public comment has passed, but would appreciate the Division notify the District what procedures
to follow to register our objection and be considered an objector in this case.
The District is currently constructing a $22M wastewater treatment facility across from the
proposed project. This facility has taken twelve years of planning and approvals to reach the construction
phase. Through the planning process this plant will treat wastewater from the cities of Black Hawk,
Central City and portions of Gilpin County well beyond 2050.
The new facility has very large concrete tanks with untreated sewer water and sludge, along with a
potable water system on the site which would have a catastrophic event should offsite blasting endanger
their stmctural integrity. We are also still trying to determine if the project will create any adverse
conditions through the Black Hawk Fault thereby affecting the wastewater treatment facility.
Thank you for your consideration of our request, and look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
BLACK HAWK/CENTRAL CITY
SANITATION DISTRICT
m ~l..,~~
Lynn M.
