~~ SW-N109 (Calamity Draw) ~ Field(1) ~ ~ Lab (4) ~ ~~
• (1) Measure monthly water conductivity, PH, temperature, flow/depth for surface water monitoring
stations (SW's). Lab analysis for ammonia NH3 and NHa.
(2) Measure weekly for conductivity, PH, temperature, oil/grease, settleable solids, and flow for all
discharging water from Outfalls 007, 008 and 009. Test for total suspended solids, settleable
solids and iron once a month for Outfalls 007, 008 and 009.
(3) Full suite laboratory analysis (February, May, August, and November on quarterly schedule), if
pond(s) are discharging for Outfalls 007 008 and 009.
(4) Measure water conductivity, PH, temperature, oil/grease, and flow/depth. Have full suite laboratory
analysis February and August for Semi-Annual schedule and August for Annual schedule) for listed
groundwater monitoring wells and surface monitoring stations.
(5) Measure monthly water depth for groundwater monitoring wells (GW's).
(6) Measure water conductivity, PH, temperature, and depth. Have full suite laboratory analysis using
the Ground Water Parameters on following list (February, May, August, and November)
Surface Water Monitoring -New Horizon 2 Mine The total number of surface water sampling
locations is five. Calamity Draw contains three stations while the remaining two stations are located
• on the West Lateral Ditch.
Stations SW-N102 is Located on a tributary of Calamity draw and will remain as a monitoring point
for water leaving Pond 007. This will also act as the NPDES 007 discharge monitoring point for
Pond 007. The two stations, SW-N108 and SW-N109 are also located on Calamity Draw. The
upstream station, SW-N108 is located just west of Lincoln Street as it flows from under the road.
This station will define water quality and quantity before it enters the area potentially influenced by
the mine. SW-N109 is located on Calamity Draw west of the mine permit boundary but east of the
Nucla waste water lagoons. This station will define the water quality and quantity as it leaves the
site but before it is influenced by the waste water lagoons. Station SW-N101 was dropped from
the monitoring program in the Calamity draw as Stations SW-108 and SW-109 replaced its
functions.
Surface station SW-N104 monitors the flow and water quality of the W est Lateral Ditch as it enters
the area upstream of the mine permit. To more accurately reflect the water quality immediately
upstream of the mine, the sample site has been moved from its original location within the Town
• of Nucla to the HDPE inlet structure located at the mine property boundary. Monitoring of the CCC
West Lateral Ditch downstream of the mine property atsite SW-N105 has been discontinued since
the installation of the HDPE pipelines mentioned above in West Lateral Irrigation Ditch -Flow
REVISED JULY 2006 2.04.7-45
