MINED LAND ~DLIFE STATEMENT/EVALUATION (Re~sed) <br />for limited impact and select regular mine applications <br />The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for use by Mined Land <br />Reclamation Board in their consideration of a mini mit for: <br />cAN,yoN SaNAv-G~ve~~i~S~ <br />Robert Scott 1Snow Springs Gravel Pit - SE1/4 Sec. 29 T35N R3W <br />Name/Type and Location of Mine (Legal) <br />Wildlife Species list: Deer, elk, eagles (bald & golden}, other raptors, <br />miscellaneous songbirds, trout, coyotes, small mammals. <br />Endangered/critical species/impacted: <br />Endangered: Bald eagle <br />Critical: None <br />New feeding habitat for bald eagles will be created <br />Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted: <br />None <br />Assessment of impact: <br />Minimal <br />Mine Reclamation recommendations (include key species/habitats for which restoration <br />is designed). <br />Revegtation: minimum 50 foot buffer zone from Devil Creek for stockpiles. <br />Excavate slopes at 3:1. Utilize overburden on slopes of resulting reservoir, <br />compact [o prevent excessive water percolation. Recommend planting native <br />grasses and shrubs to aid in erosion prevention.
