Y, ~` ~ \ ~~
MONTR~OSE COUN'~Y
CILORIII
ENSINEERIN6
December 12, 2003
Nick Gray
584 65.30 Rd.
Montrose CO 81401
RE: Montrose County Driveway and Access Permit Application AP#233 t 12
Dear Mr. Gray
This letter is written as memorandum to our onsite meeting this morning at: 8:30am. W e
met to discuss the possibility of the County authorizing a new access to your property off
the Kinikin Rd. We discussed that you propose to develop a new gravel piton your
property. You were informed by me that I could not grant an Industrial / C:ommcrcial
access to your property without the Board of County Commissioners authorizing a
commercial / Industrial use on your property, and that such authorization i:s obtained
through the County Special Use process.
I informed you that I was able to authorize a Field Approach /Farm Access and that I
would attempt to sight the access such that it could accommodate the necessary future
upgrades to the Commercial / Industrial access standards if the land use is ,approved by
the board. We discussed whether or not you wished to reapply for the Field Approach /
Farm Access or have me a{ter your application for Access Permit # AP233112 and make
it a Field Approach /Farm Access. You asked me to.alter your can ent stpFslication.
In authorizing your new Field Approach /Farm Access you have retained the same
documentation submitted for the Commercial /Industrial access. This documentation
consists of a not to scale drawing prepared by Delmont Consultants with calculated sight
distances and recommendations for both up gradient and down gradient removal of brush
and trees. The Field Approach /Farm access is being approved under the condition that
the ~ggested vegetation is removed and is maintained at all future times ass !car si t
distance. Failure to maintain the clear sight distance as recommended by your consultant
(Delmont) will result in my recommending immediate closure of the acces:o by the Board
of County Commissioners.
