A map attached to the FCEL application indicates the
approved drill hole locations and estimated depths for the complete per-
mitted program, which is expected to last for a period of two years.
Also included with this letter is a copy of a letter entitled
"Request for Modification to FCEL C-40288 and Description of the 1985
Exploration Program at Hart Syncline" to Mr. William Pulford, BLM District
Manager dated July 9, 1985. This letter explains in detail the planned
hydrologic monitor well development program to be conducted jointly by
Getty, the BLM, and the Colorado District, Water Resources Division (WRD).
The letter also outlines the planned 1985 program, drill hole locations
and descriptions.
Getty intends to drill 21 total holes on 15 locations and con-
struct approximately 1.0 mile of new access roads during the 1985 program.
The total estimated footage is 8660 feet with an average drill hole depth
of 420 feet. The hole depths range from approximately 100 to 880 feet.
The locations of the drill holes and access roads are indicated on the
attached map entitled "Hart Syncline: Proposed 1985 Drill Holes".
Although 13 of the 21 holes will be developed as hydrologic
monitor wells, it is estimated that 11 drill holes can be properly aban-
doned with drill cuttings and the remaining 10 holes can be properly
plugged with cement. Presented below is a calculation of the estimated
costs for sealing and reclaiming the drill holes and the associated
surface disturbance for 1985.
