Dear Colorado Division of Ivlinerals and Geology,
This note is in reeazd to the application for a mining permit by Johnson Excavation and Luke Tellier.
It is my understanding that wildlife habitat is an issue the Colorado Division of Ivfinemis and Geology must
review and discuss before granting a permit. Althoueh the Division of Wildlife employee Elisabeth-2vltller
was consulted, her comments were based on information which is incorrect. Her statements reflected an
impact review based on crusher operation for 4 weeks The permit applied for allows for more than [u•ice
this period of operation (10 weeksj. The impact on wildlife habitat needs to be re-evaluated with the
accurate operating parameters before the permit can be issued.
According to James Lieberman of Environmental information Services, it is certain that the noise from the
rock crsher will exceed the state ordinance for noise.
We understand that the arena in which the Colorado Division of Ivfinerals and Geoloey can refuse a permit
is limited. However, it should be known that all neighboring parties except those with a vested interest
(i.e. relatives of the Telliers and the cowry itselfj, are completely against this gravel pit!
It will be a detriment to our property values and our general quality of life. W e have had no means of
protecting ourselves from this process since the county commissioners who are in a place to decide fairly
and thoughtfully have fumed their backs on their constituents in order to satisfy their own agenda. We ask
you to review this application carefully and thoughtfully as if it were going [o operate in your own back
vazds.
Thank you for giving us this opportunity for commtnt
Sincerely,
David & Janet Bradley
?6475 CR 33A
Steamboat Springs
CO 80487
RECEIVED
SEP . 2 2 1°_93
D1V.
