Hernandez <br />Minerals Senior Reclamation Specialist <br />Mined Land Reclamation Division <br />Department of Natural Resources <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re:: Kiowa County, Ferris Pit, File No. M-91-073 <br />Dear Mr. Hernandez: <br />This office has reviewed the Notice of 111 Permit Application Consideration <br />submitted to our office by Mined Land Reclamation Division for the above <br />proposed project. <br />A search of the Colorado Inventory of Cultural Resources has indicated that <br />there are no known sites located within the boundaries of this project. <br />However, the location of this mining operation is near a water source which <br />make, it highly probable that prehistoric and historic sites could be <br />found in the area. If there have been no previous land altering activities <br />on the parcel, we recommend that a cultural resource survey be undertaken <br />to determine if eligible cultural resources will be impacted by mining <br />activities.
