'.-`i23i2006~13:42 IDEX INC* ~ 13038328106 N0.627 D01
Colorado Division of Minerals & Geology J
1313 Sherman St, Room 215
1?enver CO 80203
To Whom it May Concern,
NI boos =o~o~
My name is Dent Rolf. I live in Park County, CO just outside the town of Fairplay. I am
writing to you to voice my concerns regarding the proposed mining operation of Jack
Allen's property located off State Highway 9.
My farm property of 168 acres is located across Highway 9 from this proposed mining
operation. My home looks directly at this site. I am deeply concerned how this operation
will affect the quality of life in this area. Specifically, health concerns related to the
groundwater quality are foremost. Our wells (and many future water wells) depend upon
the underlying aquifer for water. I understand that due to the high groundwater ]eve] at
this mine site that the purity of our drinking water maybe in jeopardy.
In addition, the site also threatens the nearby Middle Fork of the South Platte River. This
is a designated "gold medal" trout streatn that is vital to the local economy (tourism) and
surrounding property values.
I am asking you to carefully review this mining application, with the thought of
mitigating any damage that may result to the environment, water, fisheries, and the local
economy. T am hopeful that a solution can be reached that will benefit all parties.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Kent Rolf ~~
P.O.
