VanSlyke, Supervising Geologist ~,.,/ <br />- Colorado Division of Water Resourlces "~ <br />SUBJECT': River Bottom land Corp, River Bottom Pit, File No. M-92-100 <br />Section 1, T14S, R92W, 6th PM <br />Water Division 4, Water District q0 <br />We have reviewed the application for the River Bottom Pit, as per your request of October <br />2, 1992. The applicant proposes to mine sand and gravel on 9 acres. The pit is to be <br />mined dry and process water will be from sources owned by the operator. Although it is <br />stated that no ground water will be intercepted, we note that the water table in the azea <br />is very shallow. Therefore, the possibility of intercepting ground water is highly likely. <br />We wish to caution the operator that if groundwater is intercepted, a valid well permit <br />must be obtained from this office and a water supply plan will be necessary. Due to the <br />uncertainties of this project, we wish to grant only conditional approval based on the <br />assumption that ground water will not be intercepted. <br />Should you have any additional questions, please contact our office. <br />cc: Keith Kepler, Division Engineer <br />Jim Boyd, Water Commissioner <br />
