. •Erriihit H <br />Jildlife <br />STR~i1G FARP1-'1 <br />The pit area is bordered on three sides b~ rowcron land and to the west by <br />marshy creek bottom used for pasture. A railroad also bor•der•s the pit to <br />the west. <br />The wildlife in this area cover a general scone of animals. This would in- <br />clude game species such as mule deer, mourning dove, ring-necked pheasant, <br />cotton-tail rabbits, ducks and a few geese. The area also includes many non- <br />gaine species such as raccoons, ground squirrels, field mice, skunk, meadow <br />larks and other non-game birds. <br />Along the creek an occasional white pelican may be seen, although their <br />nesting orounds are at Riverside Reservoir. Also occasionally seen may be <br />a greater blue heron, which have their nestinn grounds at Fossil Creek <br />Reservoir. <br />. , r , ~ . ~~: •, <br />. ~. <br />
