"-; <br />Exn;n;t n <br />rlininn Plan <br />STROfJG FARP1 ~2 <br />The operation consists of riet oven pit with gravel being excavated to a <br />depth of as much as 40 feet. This pit has been in operation 25 years. <br />Oraglines excavate the gravel, which is washed, graded, and stockpiled. <br />Loaders, belt elevators, trucks, and bulldozers are used in the operation. <br />Topsoil is very thin, but is stockpiled for reclamation purposes. <br />During the excavation, areas are dewatered by pumpino directly into the <br />Poudre River which forms part of the south boundary of the area. flo sur- <br />face water is impounded or diverted. <br />The area of 2g acres designated as Phase Ion the Extraction Plan flan <br />is the area of major activity, including mining, washinn. and stockoilina. <br />This area will be used for an estimated five year period, at t•~hich tune the <br />operation will progress into the Phase II designated area. As the mined <br />area advances, the pond area increases in size until at completion of mining <br />the entire area will be a waterfowl and fishing lake as indicated on the <br />Reclamation snap. <br />r <br />/' t. .. <br />i. , :~ .. <br />
