Eisenhower
Loveland, CO 80537-
Dear Dave :
Over the last several years we have made several investigations
regarding the lime disposal areas from the old Great Western Sugar Beet
Dcessing Plants .
This material is basically calcium carbonate and we have not observed
any specific environmental health concerns from it .
The only potential problem we have seen is fugitive dust . When the
old crusted material is disturbed, you may find pockets of fine dry
material that would be susceptible to wind erosion. Normal dust control
measures, as used in earth moving activity, should be adequate for this
material .
Sincerely,
Je ry71ehm
JB/my
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Courdyn W.Hotchkiss Janet Duvall - dim Disney
` District I District II District III
i
