The South Arkansas River flows through the
parcel and is therefore managed for aquatic habitat. The goals of management for the riparian
zone are to provide healthy, self-perpetuating plant communities, meet water quality standards,
provide habitats for viable populations of wildlife and fish, and provide stable stream channels.
The parcel is in view of State Highway 50 a major east-west travel condor. Visual quality is of
primary concern within this travel corridor. The end result should blend in with the natural
environment as much as possible.
There are many specifics we would like to address as it relates to this proposal and its effects to
the stream corridor. Please keep us advised to the status of the proposal so that we can make
sure it is compliant with the Land and Resource Management Plan, Pike and San Isabel National
Forests, Cimarron and Comanche National Grasslands.
Prior to accessing or operating on National Forest System Lands the proponent will be required
to obtain a permit.
`~~~
MOT l]/BENEDICT
Acting strict Ranger
~S Caring for the Land and Serving People Pnn,eE on RerycleC Pepe
