Box 821 <br />Vail, CO 81658 <br />Dear Paul: <br />INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study is to perform a Geological Evaluation of your property <br />near Marble, Colorado, which is within a Geologic Hazazd area as determined by the Colorado <br />Geological Survey, and the Gunnison County Planning Board. As a result, the Gunnison County <br />Planning Department has required this site-specific study to assist them in any present or future <br />decisions pertaining to this property. <br />LOCATION: The site is located in the NE/4 NE/4 of Section 28, T11S, R88W, 6th PM in Gunnison <br />County, Colorado, and is { 1/2 miles West of Marble; 4 I/2 miles East of State Highway 133 on <br />County Road 3; 30 miles South of Glenwood Springs, and on the North side near the floor of the <br />Crystal River Valley. The altitude is 7950 feet. <br />GENERAL GEOLOGY: The high elevations Northeast, East and South of the property are <br />Paleozoic Age Pennsylvanian and Mississippian formations which have Been thrust from the East <br />over the later Cretaceous Age Mancos Shale and Mesa Verde coal-bearing formations. This was <br />followed by Middle Tertiary intrusive dikes and laccoliths.
