Box 821 Vail, CO 81658 Dear Paul: INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this study is to perform a Geological Evaluation of your property near Marble, Colorado, which is within a Geologic Hazazd area as determined by the Colorado Geological Survey, and the Gunnison County Planning Board. As a result, the Gunnison County Planning Department has required this site-specific study to assist them in any present or future decisions pertaining to this property. LOCATION: The site is located in the NE/4 NE/4 of Section 28, T11S, R88W, 6th PM in Gunnison County, Colorado, and is { 1/2 miles West of Marble; 4 I/2 miles East of State Highway 133 on County Road 3; 30 miles South of Glenwood Springs, and on the North side near the floor of the Crystal River Valley. The altitude is 7950 feet. GENERAL GEOLOGY: The high elevations Northeast, East and South of the property are Paleozoic Age Pennsylvanian and Mississippian formations which have Been thrust from the East over the later Cretaceous Age Mancos Shale and Mesa Verde coal-bearing formations. This was followed by Middle Tertiary intrusive dikes and laccoliths. The present surface deposits at the site aze extensive talus colluvial debris modified by late glacial action into moraine-type deposits of Pleistocene and Recent ages, resting on undifferentiated su~cial material.
