For the Bourg "1i.ne, R equals 30 and a value of 0.31 was used
for K. Vm was weighted for the tributary area, using values
of 0.05 for undisturbed areas and 1.0 for disturbed areas. P.
delivery ratio of 0.75, considered conservative, ioas used.
Gully erosion was included,. assuming an erosion rate of 0.1
acre-feet per acre of gully area with a sediment delivery
ratio of 0.9. Sediment storage was provided in each pond for
3 years of average sediment yield. The sedimentation require-
ments are summarized below (in acre-feet) and tabiclated on
Plate
Pond Required
I.D. Sediment Volume
A 0.7
B 0.7
C 2.8
. Ditches
C1 and C? flow into Pond C and Ditch D flows into Sump D.
Peak design rates were determined in accordance with the 1977
SCS publication titled Procedures for Determining Peak Flows
in Colorado. The peak discharges resulting from the 10-year
precipitation event were used to size the ditches.
The area's tributary to the ditches and the disturbed and
undisturbed portions utilized to determine the design flaw
rates, were based on the worst case land use and ground cover
. conditions. The ditches themselves were desifineci in
accordance ;:ith a doru~ent entitled Desi~,n Charts for Chen
~ 1 ..
