S undisturbed and disturbed Lands, respectively. Weighted (by
area) curve numbers for the various tributary areas were
computed and are sho~::n or. Plate 21 entitled Hydrology
Summary', along with the 10-, 25- and 100-year runoff volumes.
•
•
Peak Flows
Peak rates of runoff for each pond tributary area were
calculated for the 10-, 25- and 100-year, 24-hour duration
precipitation events in accordance with Procedures for
Determinine Peak Flows in Colorado, a publication of the SCS
dated ?larch, 1977. Peak discharges were determined from the
drainage area and weighted curve number, with adjustments
made for basin shape and slope. Shown on the Hydrology
Summary (P1ate21 ) are the peak discharge rates for the 10,
25 and 100-year flood events for each pond.
PONDS
The sedimentation ponds will be located as shown on Plate l7 .
Plate 22 entitled Pond Schedule, contains a schedule of
information describing each of the ponds. The total
constructed heights range from 8.0 feet to 11.5 feet, and the
pond volumes range from 1.8 acre-feet to 8.3 acre-feet. A11
the embankments have a minimum 10-foot crest width and side
slopes of 3:1. All embankments are shown in plan on Plate 17
and schematic cross-sections are included in Plates 23-26. .
Pond embankments are to be adequately compacted during con-
struction.
~~ - ..
