<br />BOURC COAL MINE <br />HYDROLOGIC AND HYDRAULIC INVESTIGATIONS <br />PURPOSE AND SCOPE <br />The purpose of this report is to summarize Leonard Rice <br />Consulting Water Engineer's, Inc. (LRCWE) input regarding the <br />hydrologic and hydraulic considerations surrounding the <br />revised Bourg Coal Mine permit application. In preparation of <br />this report, .a field trip was made to inspect the existinc, <br />structures, Ponds A, B and H, and Ditch C1. An attempt was <br />made to utilize the original plan as much as possible, though <br />changes were necessary due to the revised mining plan and <br />changes in the regulations. <br />• <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Bourg Coal Hine site includes 160 acres of land located <br />approximatelti• 5 miles northeast of Walden, Colorado in <br />Jackson County, as shown on Plate l~ entitled Sedimentation <br />Plan for Bourg ~1ine. Walden Coal Company will construct a <br />total of 4 sedir~tentation ponds, designated A through C and H, <br />which have been designed to place the mining area in <br />compliance with the Colorado "tined Land Reclamation Board <br />(CMLRB) regulations. In accordance with Rule 4.05.6 of the <br />CMLRB, the ponds are designed to detain the inflow from <br />runoff produced as the result of the 10-year, 24-hour <br />duration precipitation event to allow removal of sediment <br />particles. <br /> <br />~~ .,. .. „ <br />
