' AfAINTENANCE PROGRA:~1 <br />Alaintenance of sedimentation ponds and diversion ditches will <br />be required during the intended life of the structures. <br />Sediment shall be removed from the ponds when it has <br />accumulated to sixty percent of the design sediment storage <br />volume. In accordance with Rule 4.0.6(11) of the C1.1LRB, pond <br />embankments should lie inspected a minimum of four times per <br />year by the mine operator for structural weakness or erosion, <br />and repairs made when necessary. Rills and gullies deeper <br />than 9 inches which develop on an embankment should be filled <br />and revegetated. Operating spillways should be inspected <br />regularly and maintained in a manner to insure proper <br />performance. <br />Diversion ditches and emergency spillways may need to be <br />• periodically cleaned and repaired to insure that they operate <br />as designed. Ditches should be maintained at the designed <br />gradients and revegetated when necessary. Vegetative growth <br />on embankments may need to be periodically cut to facilitate <br />inspection and repairs. <br />r1 <br />~~ <br />iC\ - ,,. <br />
