1
1

1
D.9.3 Drainaoe Crossinos
As shown on Figure C-13, the main drainage crossing will
be the haul road crossing of the Rito Seco. This crossing has
been designed as a combination culvert and Swale crossing.
Table D.9-2 contains the drainage crossing design. Three 54-
inch diameter corrugated metal (CMP) culverts will be installed
to carry normal flows, as well as small storm events. The
design storm will be carried through both the culverts and the
drainage Swale. Locally available alluvial or Santa Fe
Conglomerate material will be used for the construction. Rip
rap will be obtained from run-of-mine materials.
' Two tributary drainages
th
th
t
k di
l are crossed in the vicinity of
C
i
f
h
h
e sou
was
e roc sposa area.
ross
ng o
t
e sout
ern
most drainage will be accomplished by using one 72-inch
' diameter CMP culvert to pass flows under the road. Crossing
of the northern most drainage will be accomplished using one
' 48-inch diameter culvert to pass flows under the road. Designs
are presented in Table D.9-2.
' The third drainage crossing is in the vicinity of waste
' rock disposal areas A and B. This crossing will be accomplished
by use of a drainage Swale. Designs for the drainage Swale are
presented in Table D.9-2. Additional drainages. are crossed
' between the east and west pit areas and between the west pit
and waste rock disposal area C. These culvert designs are also
' presented in Table D.9-2.
' Riprap design for the culvert outlets is documented in
Appendix G and summarized in Table D.9-2 and Figure D.9-3. Rip
' rap selection will occur using run-of-mine rock and mine
equipment will be used to place the rip rap.
1
1
' D-66 (Revised 4/20/89)
(Revised 7iE/89,
