' leach pad waters and processed through a traditional carbon
column process to remove the gold and silver which will then
' be melted into dory bars.
' Mill facilities design specifications have not been
completed. The design will include provisions for• containment
' and recovery of spilled materials. Mill facilities designs will
be submitted to the Division upon completion.
The concentrates from the carbon-in-leach circuit will
be rinsed with fresh water and combined with the flotation
' tailings. The combined tailings/concentrates will be
neutralized to a level of 0.2 ppm free cyanide prior to
disposal. The combined tailings will be dewatered to between
20 and 22 percent moisture content and trucked :o the south
waste rock disposal area for disposal. The cyanide levels will
be measured at the point of disposal. Measurinc will occur
once each day during the initial two weeks of dispcsal and once
t each week thereafter.
' The pipeline corridor which contains the barren and
pregnant solution pipes will connect the mill area with the
t solution ponds. The corridor consists of dual berms creating
a ditch adjacent to the leach pad and access road, and shall
be lined with HDPE synthetic liner. In the event of a pipe
rupture, solution leakage will drain either to the barren
solution pond or to an emergency storage pond in the mill area.
' A typical section through the pipeline corridor is shown on
Figure C-12. Typical details in the vicinity of tF~e mill area
' are shown on Figure D.5-1.
' The emergency storage pond is sized to contain
approximately 100,000 gallons which is sufficient for a double
pipe break scenario involving a one-hour response period.
1
1
D-33 (Revised 4/20/89)
