Curry <br />500 South 6th Street <br />Kremmling, Colorado 80459 <br />Re: Our File No. 81-23G <br />Grand Gravel Pit <br />Dear Mr. Curry: <br />I have reviewed the above application for adequacy and have the following <br />questions, comments, and suggestions which are intended to aid you in bringing <br />this application into full compliance with the law and to the satisfaction <br />of the Afined Land Reclamation Board. Please addz'ess each of the following <br />items in detail: <br />1. Please submit a copy of the application content in order to fulfill <br />requirements mentioned in Rule 3.1 (first paragraph). <br />2. Please indicate on the .soils map the a7~pro:rimate location of your topsoil <br />stockpile. The stockpiled topsoil should be placed in an area out of the way <br />of any other mining-related activities. Ar7d.it.ionally, please state the <br />approximate depth to which topsoil will be reapplier7 to affected lands. . <br />3. Please give the cover of vegetation in percent of the total cover for <br />the major species as indicated, per Rule 3.1Z(8)(c). <br />4. The staff recommends that the excavation allow for drainage (from the <br />final excavated site) to the existing drainage area and that care be exercised <br />to maintain the integrity of the drainage system. <br />5. The staff recommends a minimum off-set of at least 25 Feet from the power <br />line corridor which intersects the site. Ar7jacent slopes should he i.n a <br />stable condition. Additionally, the operator will need approval for excavation <br />within 200 feet of the power lines from the payer company or owner of the line <br />in order to fulfill requirements wider Rule 1.56(5). <br />6. Please indicate that the SCS recommendations, as submitted, will be <br />followed, or, identify those which will not be followed. <br />
