EFFLUENT Li!iITATI0N5 AND MONITORING REQUIREME_"!TS <br />4, Footnotes <br />a/ - The thirty (30) da;v average shah be determined by the ari='~mecic <br />mean of ail samples collected during a thirty (30) <br />consecutive-day period. Samples shall not be used for more than <br />one reporting period. <br />J - This limitation shall be determined by a single sample or set of <br />samples as required by ?art I.B.3., Sample Type. <br />J -When the measurement frequency indicated is quarterly, the <br />samples shall be collected during ;Sarch, Sune, September and <br />December, if a continual discharge occurs. If the discharge is <br />intermittent, then samples shall be collected during the period <br />chat discharge occurs. If the permictee, using the approved <br />analytical methods, monitors any parameter more frequenely than <br />required by this permit, then the results of such monitoring <br />shall be included in the calculation and reporting of the values <br />required in ehe Discharge Yonicoring Report Form or ocher farms <br />as required by Che Division. Such increased frequency shall also <br />be indicated. <br />• J - Definitions of Sample Tvpe <br />1. A "grab" sample, for monitoring requirements, is a single <br />"dip and take" sample. <br />2. An "instantaneous" measurement, for monitoring reeuireaencs, <br />is a single reading, observation, or measurement performed on <br />site. <br />3. A "continuous" measurement, for flow monitoring requiremer.cs, <br />is a measurement obtained from an automatic recording device <br />which continually measures flow. <br />~. A "-visual" observation, for oil and grease monitoring <br />reauirements, is obser^:ing the discharge to deck for the <br />presence of a visibly sheen or Floating oil. <br />e/ - Ia the event an oi'_ sheen or _°loaciag oi'_ is observed, a grab <br />sample shall be collected, analyzed, and reported.
