Dear Ms Nordyke:
The Division has received your letter of July 7, 1994 in which you notified us of your application to the state
for pernission to operate a limited impact gavel pit affectigg under 10 acres in Custer County. The letter
did not provide us with sufficient information to detemline if either a process water or stormvater permit was
• necessary for the site. These pt:rnits are necessary if there are any dischazges into surface water of either
waters used in the processing of the gavel or storrnwater runoff from the mine site. The attached application
will assist you in detemlining if a pemtit is necessary. The pemvt needs to be obtained prior to the start up
of the gavel mine.
