Public Comment period. The end of the original public comment period was November 9. <br />2000. Because of an error the newspaper missed a week of publication, therefore the end of the <br />public comment period was extended to November 16, 2000. Since your comments were <br />received prior to the end of the public comment period you are considered a patty to this <br />application. <br />4.) At the end of the public comment period [he Division must schedule a series of meetings <br />(Informal Conference, Pre-hearing Meeting and Board Hearings) if there are any formal <br />objectors. You indicted that it was the purpose of your letter to "formally make you aware of <br />the City's concems regarding this proposed activity." You concluded your letter by thanking us <br />"for giving us the opportunity to have reviewed and provided comment on this application. We <br />hope you give our concems due consideration during your review of this application. We are <br />available to answer any questions that you may have regarding, this letter." <br />We hope that after examining our adequacy reviews, you feel that the Division will give due <br />consideration to your concerns. Since your letter was received during the Formal public <br />comment period and did express concems regarding the application, the Division is currently <br />considering the City of Rifle to be a "party" objecting to this application. <br />Until you notify us in writing otherwise, we must assume that you are an objector. I am enclosing a <br />May 20, 1999 Division Memorandum- Party Status in Matters before the Nlined Land Reclamation <br />Board-which explains "Party Status". Included in this memo is a "Party Status Request Form". <br />I am requesting that you return this form prior December l~, 2000 indicating if you wish to be named <br />or not named as a party. This is important because if you do wish [o be named as a party the Division <br />will have to schedule an informal conference and aPre-hearing conference. If you do not return the <br />form we will need to schedule these meetings with the assumption that you are an objector.
